Mojang Office Cape: the Eerie Mojang Office Party Cape

The Mojang Office cape was the top reward at the Eerie Mojang Office Party, a Bedrock event server that ran from December 9 to December 20, 2024. Players who finished all five daily challenges got the cape, and it also works on Java. It has not been obtainable since the server closed.
The name causes confusion. This is not a staff cape, and it does not mean the account belonged to a Mojang employee.
The Eerie Mojang Office Party
Minecraft.net described the event as a "Minecraft fantasy reimagination of our Stockholm studio," with a mystery running through it: something had escaped the source code and was causing trouble around the office. According to the Minecraft Wiki, it was built by Mojang Studios with Blockworks and celebrated The Garden Awakens, the game drop that added the pale garden, the creaking, and the eyeblossom on December 3, 2024.
The official dates:
- Opened: December 9, 2024 at 10am PT
- Closed: December 20, 2024 at 3pm PT
You joined from a button on the Bedrock main screen. Minecraft.net said the event would not be available in other versions, and on consoles you needed an online subscription such as Game Pass, PlayStation Plus, or Nintendo Switch Online. Child accounts needed server play turned on in their settings.
The Minecraft Wiki lists five areas (the Main Lobby, QA Department, Mob Factory, Biome Labs, and Idea Vault), with mini-games such as Bug Squash, Assembly Attack, Biome Drop, and Cloud Race.
The five daily challenges
The cape came from daily challenges, not from the mini-game scores. Minecraft.net set out the reward ladder: one daily challenge for a cap, three for a shirt, and five for the cape. The cap and shirt were Bedrock Character Creator items. Only the cape carried over to Java.
Per the Minecraft Wiki, a new challenge went up on the lobby whiteboards at 18:00 UTC on each of the first five days. Once a challenge was posted, you could finish it any time before the event closed:
| Day | Challenge |
| --- | ------------------------------------------------------------ |
| 1 | Visit all four office departments |
| 2 | Fire all the confetti cannons |
| 3 | Collect 1,000 coins in one day |
| 4 | Smash 15 bugs while wearing the Dev Hat |
| 5 | Complete all three dropper levels while wearing the Lab Coat |
The fifth challenge went up on December 13, which is the earliest anyone could earn the cape. Minecraft.net said the reward was granted automatically once you had collected the stickers, and you might need to restart the game to see it.
What the Mojang Office cape looks like
The Minecraft Wiki describes the design as one large, open eyeblossom in the center with smaller eyeblossoms around it, on a dark background, a nod to the eyeblossom opening at night. The wiki also notes that the official image of the event rewards called it the "Eyeblossom Cape," so you may see both names. Like any cape, it also changes the look of your elytra.
How the Mojang Office cape reached Java
The event ran only on Bedrock, but the cape did not stay there. Minecraft.net said: "the cape will work on Java too! Just restart your Minecraft launcher after you've earned your cape in Bedrock."
That works because the cape is granted to the Microsoft account rather than to one edition, so it shows on Java only if the same Microsoft account owns Java. For launcher steps, see how to get a cape in Minecraft Java. For how the two editions share an account, see Java vs Bedrock Minecraft accounts.
Can you still get the Mojang Office cape?
No. The server closed on December 20, 2024, and we found no announcement of a re-run.
There was never a code for this cape either. It went straight to the accounts that finished the challenges. The Minecraft Wiki also records that, in late November 2024, Minecraft's redeem page briefly linked an "Eyeblossom Cape" to buying a physical Creeper Cape from the official merch shop. That text was removed within hours, and the merch offer was later changed to a Bedrock Character Creator item. The event was the only route. Anyone selling a Mojang Office cape "code" or "unlock" is selling something that does not exist, since capes cannot be moved between accounts.
Mojang Office cape vs Mojang staff capes
The names are easy to mix up. The Mojang Office cape was an event reward that anyone could earn. The Mojang and Mojang Studios capes went to staff, and the Minecraft Wiki lists the original Mojang cape as Java-only.
The numbers show the difference. At the time of writing, NameMC's cape list shows about 209,000 profiles with the Mojang Office cape, against a couple of hundred each for the Mojang and Mojang Studios staff capes. NameMC only counts profiles it has seen, but the gap is large enough to make the point. A listing that calls a Mojang Office cape a "Mojang cape" is either confused or trying to borrow the staff cape's rarity.
How to verify a Mojang Office cape
Check the account yourself once you have access, not from a seller's screenshot.
- Java launcher. Open the Skins tab, edit a skin, and look at the cape list. It shows the capes this account owns. Select the Mojang Office cape and save.
- In game. Join a world in third person and check for the eyeblossom design on a dark background.
- NameMC. Search the username. NameMC shows the capes it has recorded for the profile, and the Mojang Office cape page lists known holders. It is a cross-check, not proof of ownership or access.
Before buying, ask for a live screen share of the launcher's cape list rather than an image. If you are not sure how to run that check safely, read how to claim an alt without getting scammed.
Buying an account with the Mojang Office cape
You are buying an account that happens to have the cape, so the access level is the main thing to check.
- Access type matters. NFA and SFA accounts give you limited control, and MFA gives you the Microsoft account itself. The differences are in NFA vs SFA vs MFA Minecraft accounts. If someone else can still recover the account, the cape leaves with it.
- Keep it in perspective. It is a cosmetic from a recent, widely played event, not in the same tier as MINECON or staff capes.
alts.cool does not sell NFA or SFA accounts. Our caped accounts include Mojang Office cape listings, at $8.99 at the time of writing. Run the launcher check above as soon as you have access.
FAQ
Does the Mojang Office cape mean the account belonged to a Mojang employee?
No. Any Bedrock player who finished the five daily challenges at the Eerie Mojang Office Party in December 2024 could earn it. Staff capes are different and much rarer.
Is the Eyeblossom Cape the same as the Mojang Office cape?
Yes. "Eyeblossom Cape" was the name on the official image of the event rewards. Mojang Office is the name used for the cape itself.
Did you need Bedrock to get it?
Yes. The event ran only on Bedrock Edition. The cape then also worked on Java for the same Microsoft account after a launcher restart.
Will the Mojang Office cape come back?
We found no announcement of a re-run. It was tied to a server that ran for under two weeks in December 2024.
